Meet The Chef

Why I wanted to be a chef is the question people ask me most.

 

I was surrounded by great cooking from an early age, helping my grandma in the kitchen to make stews and crumbles and my dad with the Sunday roast!

 

I knew I wanted to be a chef at the age of 12. When I first walked into my aunties pub kitchen in Ashbourne I was hooked! At 16 I applied for to catering college in Nottingham and over the next 3 years earned the professional chefs diploma.

 

I started my career as a commis chef at “The Wollaton Pub and Kitchen” waking up at the crack of dawn every morning looking forward to a busy day in the kitchen. With my love for food, attention to detail and passion for quality I was quickly promoted through the ranks to become a sous chef.

 

But my story really begins here.

 

As Head Chef at The Punchbowl I will focus all my skills, experience and expertise to create new, exciting dishes, give classics a magical twist and provide a decent range of option for vegetarians. Working with fresh local produce is also very important to me as I know exactly what I’m putting in my dishes.

 

I simply love my giving my customers the best plate of food they can get!
